Countryside Cabins is located in southeast Iowa in Lee County.  Countryside Cabins opened in April 2007. We are very excited, and are looking forward to providing the very best stay for you and your family, whether you are interested in camping, hiking, fishing, or hunting. We also want to offer the best service to you, and feel confident that once you've stayed with us, you will come back again and again.

We are a family-run business. We built four cabins on our farm, and have 400 acres of Shimek State Forest within walking distance of each cabin. This is timber ground with creek bottoms, lots of wooded areas where deer and turkey like to hide and feed. We are also 10 minutes away from 10,000 additional acres of Shimek State Forest.

If you are a deer hunter, then you already know that Southeast Iowa is one of the best places in the country to hunt. Your cabin is about 1 minute away from Shimek State Forest hunting ground. Shimek is known for its deer and turkey populations. We offer a place to stay, and we can suggest good areas to hunt. The only thing you pay for is a place to sleep.
